Our Journey

Background

Shape Associates is built on the foundations of a professional team of consultants, all of whom have extensive real-life experience in the workplace and understand the challenges our partners are going through.

Shape Associates was founded in Jersey in 2020 by Darren Parker and Carl Appleton and has worked with major clients across the Channel Islands and the mainland. Our co-founders are both ex-

Royal Navy, having begun their maritime journey in the late 1980’s while carrying out patrols in the Middle East onboard HMS Birmingham. Thirty years later their paths crossed again, and having each leveraged their experience and skillsets into successful consultancies, they decided to form a new company, Shape Associates, to extend their expertise more broadly into the maritime space. With this background it’s little wonder we have a natural affinity to working with maritime clients.

In 2022 Shape expanded into aviation, and in early 2023 along with the formation of a UK company, brought Justin Woodley onto the board, bringing extensive experience in Digital Transformation and ERP systems.

Shape Associates prides itself on our business model, which is based on working with industry-leading associates across key sectors. Our associates have extensive experience in their respective fields, helping organisations to realise transformation at all levels.
